Hidden in the lush pine forests of Mustkhal, our eco-village near Rishikesh is spread over two hectares of land that has witnessed several generations before the farms were abandoned following the migration of the families living there. Our biggest challenge was to restart farming and revive the land without relying on modern practices that seem easy and accessible but involve excessive chemical use which is harmful for the environment. The idea was to create a self-sustained space which is also perfect for an off-grid escape from mundane life.
In order to achieve and maintain optimal soil health and diversity, we started exploring natural farming practices that were used by our ancestors long back. The findings shocked us! As we dived deeper into the ancient agricultural wisdom, we realized that they did nothing secretive except living in complete sync with nature.
Fast forward today, the farm is blossoming with a diverse variety of indigenous and exotic flora and fauna enhancing its charm. To elevate the experience further, we’ve restored and revived beautiful mud houses where you can rest and rejuvenate after spending those green hours learning consciously-designed natural building and sustainable farming practices.
The experiences are carefully curated for those looking to try pottery, take it up as a hobby, or make it a profession. Our pottery course for beginners introduces you to essential elements of pottery, such as handbuilding, wheelwork, preparing the clay-wedging, pulling, centering, glazing and firing, helping you immerse your senses in playful mud, master body-mind connection, and heal with the therapeutic effects of pottery.
Permaculture Integration to promote biodiversity and sustainability.
Water Conservation using natural streams and preserving water resources.
Waste Recycling converting waste into compost, biogas, and useful products.
Our practices are inspired by how nature functions on its own with no human intervention. We aim to copy-paste everything happening in our surroundings and develop synergetic systems that help enhance and sustain the area’s diversity, recyclability, soil health, and productivity.
This mystical pahadi eco-village with its state-of-the-art mud houses and untouched natural beauty offers a rare opportunity to immerse in the serenity of the surrounding Himalayas while learning from nature and integrating it in daily life. It’s an ideal space for individuals seeking a secluded space that supports inner work. If you’re a meditation practitioner or healer willing to organize your events here, you can submit a proposal to conduct your retreats/workshops in this tranquil pahadi haven.
